June Long Weekend 2019 – Wild West theme Get your boots, feathers and hats out! We’re introducing a theme to the annual June Long Weekend 2019. Kicking off with a Wild West theme, guests staying over the June Long Weekend are encouraged to pack their western gear and dress up for the weekend. We hope to see lots of Cowboys and Indians running around! Saturday is our main dress up day. However, guests are welcome to canoe or fire some arrows at archery in costume on Sunday. The Easter bunny is coming to visit us as he does every Easter. While you’re biting the ears off your chocolate bunnies or bilbies this Easter, you might wonder how chocolate rabbits became so central to our Easter celebrations. It’s suggested that the symbol of the rabbit comes the from pagan festival of Eostre. Eostre was a goddess of fertility whose animal symbol was a rabbit. Why a rabbit?
